Salary: $53.67 - $55.53 Hourly Location: Kirtland Grayling, 4800 W 4 Mile Road Grayling, MI Job Type: EDUStaff Job Number: 21-00208 Division: Instruction Department: General Education Description Kirtland Community College is accepting applications for Part-time Art Instructors. Instructors should be able to teach foundational courses in graphic design and typography, as well as second semester courses that teach a full understanding of Photoshop and Illustrator. These courses are online (asynchronous). DutiesCommunicate effectively with students, College personnel, and outside agencies utilizing both interpersonal and technical methodologies. Prepare for and instruct assigned courses through the use of appropriate learning experiences and materials which provide the opportunity to meet overall course objectives and program goals. Support student learning by meeting college requirements in assessing student learning. Establish and maintain a professional environment conducive to student learning. Evaluate student progress through day-to-day evaluation, written examinations, and overall observation. Provide students with feedback on progress on a timely basis. Actively support student success through guidance, advising, and assisting individual students as needed. Participate in professional activities including, but not limited to, curriculum planning, examination development, textbook selection, program evaluation/revision, and other professional planning activities. Participate in Student End of Course Evaluation process. Submission of grades according to College timelines. Attend meetings as specified by contract. Perform other duties as assigned. QualificationsMaster's degree in Art (MA, MFA) with an emphasis in Graphic or Visual Design, or Master's degree with 18 graduate credit hours in graphic/visual design Professional experience in related areas Portfolio of personal and student artwork Supervision Works under the general supervision of the Dean of
