Title: Instructional Assistant Professor and Clinical Assistant Professor-Creating a Pool-TCH Employee Classification: Instructional Asst Professor Division Name: Academic Affairs College/Unit: College of Education Department: School of Teaching and Learning Campus Location: Normal, IL Job Summary The School of Teaching and Learning seeks to build a pool of non-tenure-track instructors, clinical instructors, and/or student teaching supervisor applicants to be drawn from during the 2025-2026 academic year. Applications are accepted continuously and reviewed as vacancies become available. There may not be an actual vacancy at the time you apply. Positions are part-time and may only be for one semester at a time, depending on School needs. These positions are represented by the Illinois State University Education Association and may have associated dues or fees. Course Instructors: All applicants with Early Childhood, Elementary, Elementary Bilingual/ESL, Middle Level and Secondary teaching experience are encouraged to apply. Needs within the School of Teaching and Learning vary by semester. Current needs include: Early Childhood: literacy, science, social studies Elementary: generalist, literacy, science, social studies Elementary Bilingual/ESL: generalist Secondary: generalist, literacy Clinical Course Instructors: Mentoring experience is preferred. Clinical Course Instructors are required to visit placement schools, observe and support both teacher candidates and cooperating teachers. Clinical course requirements for on-campus teaching vary by program (early childhood, elementary, middle level), and collaboration with other clinical block instructors is required. Student Teaching Supervisors: Mentoring experience is preferred. Supervisors are required to visit placement schools, observe student teachers, provide seminars related to current trends in education, and be available as a mentor to student teachers and cooperating teachers.
