About this position

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences (CEEES) at the University of Notre Dame is expanding its research and educational strengths in Construction Engineering and Management and invites applications for multiple open rank faculty positions in Innovative Construction Engineering and Infrastructure Systems . Appointments may be made at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level. Areas of particular interest include, but are not restricted to: • Intelligent, Autonomous, and Geospatial Construction Systems: construction robotics and autonomous equipment; geomatics, sensing, reality capture, and computer vision; digital twins and cyber-physical systems; human-robot collaboration; and AI-enabled construction planning and operations. • Future Construction and Infrastructure Systems: advanced and automated construction methods; industrialized, off-site, and additive construction; construction production, productivity, and sustainability; workforce transformation; safety and human factors; and human-AI collaboration. • Construction and Infrastructure in Complex Environments: innovative approaches to constructing, maintaining, and adapting infrastructure in dense urban, constrained, remote, extreme, and extraterrestrial environments, including challenges associated with existing infrastructure, limited access and resources, and complex project settings. These areas are intended to be illustrative rather than restrictive, and candidates pursuing innovative research that broadly advances construction engineering and infrastructure systems are encouraged to apply. Qualifications: Successful candidates are expected to develop internationally recognized and externally funded research programs, teach undergraduate and graduate courses in construction engineering and management, mentor students, and contribute to collaborative research within the Department, across the University, and with industry and government partn
