Position Classification: Adjunct Employment Type: Part-Time Benefits: Part-Time (Less than 30 hours) Not Benefitted Department: Applied Tech Summary Responsible for providing high-quality instruction in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) programs, including EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, continuing education, refresher, contract, and workforce offerings. Delivers classroom, laboratory, simulation, clinical, and field instruction consistent with WNMU curriculum, New Mexico EMS Bureau requirements, National EMS Education Standards, and applicable regulatory requirements. Duties Teach assigned EMS courses and workforce offerings for which appropriately qualified through the delivery of classroom, laboratory, simulation, clinical, and field instruction. Maintain attendance, grades, competency documentation, and required records and ensure accurate and timely submission of records as required by Academic Affairs and University Policy/Practice. Assess student cognitive, psychomotor, and affective competencies to prepare students for certification examinations and workforce entry. Model professionalism, patient safety, ethics, and effective communication and maintain safe instructional environments, equipment, and simulation resources. Comply with University policies, NM EMS Bureau requirements, and clinical affiliate requirements. Maintain required certifications and current professional competence through continuing education and practice. Participate in assessment, outreach, recruitment, and required meetings. Perform other duties as assigned. Education/Background Current unrestricted New Mexico EMS license at or above the instructional level assigned. Must meet New Mexico EMS Bureau instructor qualifications and maintain required BLS certification and all required licensure and instructional credentials. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
