We seek qualified, student-centered instructors to teach undergraduate and, as appropriate, graduate courses across the Psychology curriculum. Areas of instructional need vary by semester and may include introductory psychology; research methods and statistics; biological psychology and neuroscience; clinical and counseling psychology; cognitive psychology; developmental psychology; social psychology; industrial-organizational psychology; and other areas represented in the department's curriculum. Candidates must hold a master's or doctoral degree in Psychology or a field relevant to the course(s) to be taught, or be enrolled in a relevant doctoral program and have advanced to candidacy (ABD), by the time of appointment. Teaching assignments may be available at the San Bernardino or Palm Desert campus and may include in-person, hybrid, or online instruction depending on departmental needs. Appointments are temporary and are made according to instructional needs, enrollment, available funding, and the qualifications and expertise of applicants. Part-time lecturer appointments are temporary and are made according to departmental instructional needs, enrollment, available funding, and the qualifications and expertise of applicants. Inclusion in the applicant pool does not guarantee an appointment TYPICAL ACTIVITIES Part-time lecturers are responsible for teaching assigned courses and fulfilling the instructional responsibilities associated with those courses. Responsibilities typically include:Preparing and delivering course instruction consistent with approved course objectives and departmental and university expectations. Maintaining an accurate and current course syllabus and clearly communicating course requirements and expectations. Assessing student learning and providing timely and appropriate feedback. Maintaining accurate course and student records. Communicating with students and holding office hours in accordance with university requirements. Using appropriate university instructional technologies, including the learning management system. Complying with applicable university, college, and department policies and procedures. Qualified candidates must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population and to working effectively with faculty, staff and students across a wide range of disciplines.
