The college seeks a dynamic leader with creative vision and an outstanding record of research, teaching, and service as well as previous administrative leadership experience to fill this position. Reporting to the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts, the successful applicant will work alongside talented faculty, promote collaboration across disciplines, and play a crucial role in shaping the future of the college.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Department of Political Science Overview</strong></p> <p> </p> <p>In the last three years, the Purdue Political Science Department has hired over a dozen faculty, bringing the total tenure track faculty size to 30, in addition to full-time teaching and visiting faculty. These investments have created departmental strengths in the study of political institutions and political economy, democracy and authoritarianism, and AI and technology, adding to existing strengths in conflict and modern warfare and environmental politics and policy, as well as politics, groups and identities. The department’s undergraduate program is one of the largest in the College of Liberal Arts, with 558 majors, a 130 percent increase since 2020. Recent PhD graduates have secured tenure-track positions at R1 and liberal arts institutions, as well as in competitive postdoctoral and industry positions. </p> <p><br>The Department is home or co-home to several university-recognized research centers, including the Center for C-SPAN Scholarship & Engagement (CCSE), the Governance and Responsible AI Lab (GRAIL), the Joe and Maggie Kernan (JMK) Experimental Lab, the Methodology Center at Purdue (MCAP), and the Program on American Institutional Ren
