About this position
Mars Hill University seeks an energetic, engaging adjunct instructor to bring biology to life for science majors during the Spring 2027 semester. The instructor will teach lectures and labs for Introduction to Cells & Genetics (BIO121), part of a 2-course introductory sequence for biology, zoology, and related majors, helping students explore the living world through relevant examples, meaningful discussions, and hands-on investigations. The course is currently scheduled to be taught with lectures MWF at 1 pm, and labs Monday 2-5 pm and possibly Tuesday 8- 11 am, so the ideal candidate would be available to teach at those times. We are looking for someone passionate about biology, enthusiastic in the classroom, and eager to help students see how science connects to the world around them. A Ph. D. in biology or a closely related field is preferred; however, we also strongly encourage candidates with a master's degree and college-level teaching experience to apply. To be considered, please submit a letter of interest, curriculum vitae or resume, and contact information for two professional references.
