About this position

Job Description The Agribusiness Adjunct is a part-time position. Under the direction of the Department Chair, the adjunct provides quality learning opportunities in the School of Arts and Sciences. Courses may include Sustainable Agriculture, Soil Science, Biological Pest Management, Animal Science, Farm Business Management, and Agricultural Marketing. Classes may be offered in asynchronous and / or synchronous modalities. Synchronous teaching assignments may be scheduled at the Monroe campus, Polkton campus, or online, with flexible scheduling options throughout the daytime, evening, and weekend based on departmental needs and instructor availability.Essential Duties Summary Exhibit an uncompromising commitment to South Piedmont Community College as a learning-centered college through the College's mission, vision, values, core skills and learning outcomes, and delivery of instruction and services Customize and facilitate curriculum using effective learning strategies, syllabi, and materials that promote successful teaching and learning Facilitate learning through online, hybrid, and / or classroom activities designed to support student success where applicable Access and return student work with feedback in a timely manner Inform students of their grades and progress in the course Actively participate in continuous improvement planning through the assessment of learning outcomes at the course and program levels Create, select, and use appropriate learning materials and resources, including textbooks and library resources which meet college accessibility guidelines Stay current with developments in the field of technology and learning theory Demonstrate a high-level professionalism in developing and/or implementing long- and short-range plans Continue professional development for the improvement of self and the program Provide accessibility to students and colleagues Maintain and submit all required class records and/or reports on time Accept teaching assignmen
