Title: Adjunct-School of Communication Application Review Date: Ongoing review Campus Location: Radford City - Main Campus Job Description Adjunct Faculty positions supplement the faculty of a department wherever additional faculty are needed. Adjunct faculty hold three year appointments, as defined by their letter of appointment without eligibility for tenure; where authorized by the Dean, adjunct appointments may be renewed. Adjunct appointments do not guarantee course assignments. Required Qualifications All faculty must have at least a Master's degree in the field/discipline in which they are teaching with 18 hours of course work related to the course(s) being taught. In some cases, subject to the approval by the Provost, a faculty member could be recommended for appointment based on substitution of significant experience for the degree. Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates who are able to teach in person, daytime or evening. Special Instructions to Applicants Applicants must submit an unofficial copy of transcripts of post-secondary course work with the application. If the applicant's official transcripts are on file in the Office of the Provost, a statement indicating such, must be submitted in lieu of the documents with the application. Official transcripts of all post-secondary course work will be required upon selection for hire. Official transcripts must be sent directly to the Office of the Provost, Attention: Transcript Clerk/Coordinator, Campus P. O. Box 6910, Radford University, Radford, VA 24142 Adjunct instructors must attend a scheduled adjunct orientation as offered upon appointment. Orientation date and time will be announced.
