About this position

The William & Mary Law School is recruiting a pool of adjunct faculty to teach one or more courses within the online Master of Legal Studies (M.L.S.) program. This is a part-time, non-benefited position paid semi-monthly over the term of the course. The adjunct role is restricted to a specified term. ## What You'll Do Adjunct faculty serve a vital role within the Law School and are valued members of the community. Under the guidance of the Assistant Dean for Academic and Faculty Affairs, you will design and teach courses, facilitate course activities, provide students with timely feedback, and grade assignments and exams. You'll be provided with professional learning opportunities and invited to attend on-campus events. Key responsibilities include: - Prepare the syllabus and, with the support of Instructional Designers, update the relevant course modules as needed. - Use the learning management system (Blackboard) and work within William & Mary-specific online policies and procedures. - Review course content, activities, and assignments prior to the term's start date. - Meet all designated course instruction guidelines. - Provide students with timely and specific feedback. - Grade assignments and exams in a timely manner, no later than the deadline set by the law school. - Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours. - Offer weekly office hours for individual or group consultation. - Submit final grades according to William & Mary policy and the individual program calendars. - Submit an end-of-semester feedback and reflection form. - Maintain frequent and open communication with William & Mary faculty and staff through email, telephone, and any other medium deemed appropriate. ## Qualifications We're Looking For ### Required - A Master's degree, Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent, or another graduate degree directly related to the discipline from an accredited college or university. - Expertise and relevant professional and/or instructional experien
