For the current academic year, the department anticipates instructional needs in Creative Writing. The English Department at William & Mary, a public university of the Commonwealth of Virginia, is recruiting a pool of qualified individuals for possible part-time adjunct teaching appointments. For the current academic year, the department anticipates instructional needs in Creative Writing. Within the College of Arts & Sciences, adjunct faculty may be responsible for: • Teaching assigned undergraduate and/or graduate courses depending on unit need. • Preparing syllabi and course materials. • Delivering instruction and assessing student learning. • Holding office hours. • Fulfilling other instructional duties consistent with departmental needs. JOB DESCRIPTION: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • A Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writingor a closely related field, or equivalent experience and qualifications. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • A Ph.D. or other appropriate terminal degree, or ABD status, inEnglishor a related field at the time of appointment (August 10 for fall or January 10 for spring). • Previous academic teaching experience is desirable.
