About this position

Adjunct Instructor of English– Online Young Harris College invites applications for a part-time, non-tenure track position to begin in January 2027. Duties will primarily include teaching English Composition I and II on online for Young Harris College’s Dual Enrollment program. In this program, high school students take college courses to receive transferable college credits while still earning credit toward high school graduation. The courses are pre-built in Moodle and are 16-weeks long. The instructor is tasked with facilitating the courses, providing prompt, meaningful feedback and communicating frequently with students. The successful candidate will have earned at least a master’s degree in English and demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching in a liberal arts undergraduate curriculum. Candidates must be comfortable with technology and experience with Moodle is a plus. Course enrollments are capped at a reasonable size, and instructors are compensated per course. Candidates should apply electronically. Applications should include a cover letter, CV and three professional references. Review of applications will continue until positions are filled. Selected candidates must successfully pass a background check. Young Harris College is proud of its Wesleyan heritage and commitment. The College was founded by a Methodist circuit-rider, and its namesake and sustainer during the institution’s formative years was one of the state’s outstanding Methodist laypeople. For several years, all Presidents of the College were ordained Methodist ministers, with Young Harris later appointing professional educators who were active lay leaders in the Methodist Church to the presidency.
