About this position

Location: 2600 South First Street Temple, TX Division: Fine Arts Department: Visual Arts Opening Date: 08/06/2026 Closing Date: Continuous FLSA: Exempt Salary Grade: Faculty Salary Grade Ranking: Masters Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in Art, Art History, Fine Arts, or a related discipline from an accredited institution. PREFERRED: MFA (Master of Fine Arts) or Ph. D. in a relevant field. College-level teaching experience is strongly preferred. Experience teaching in online or hybrid formats is a plus. CERTIFICATION OR LICENSES: None required. Work Schedule: Flexible; based on course scheduling and departmental needs. May include day, evening, or online courses. Total hours required per week: Typically, 3-9 contact hours per week per course, with additional time required for preparation, grading, and student support. SUMMARY: The Adjunct Professor of Art will teach one or more undergraduate courses in the Visual Arts, including but not limited to Studio Art, Art Appreciation, or Art History. Instruction may be lecture-based, studio-based, or a combination of both. Most Art History and Art Appreciation courses are offered online, while Studio Art courses are taught on campus. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to student learning and engagement across multiple formats.
