All employees are expected to maintain a permanent residence within the State of Utah as a condition of employment. New employees must provide a valid Utah residential address within 30 days of their start date. Job Summary Face-to-face position to teach first- and second-year Japanese courses. Our Japanese program is our most successful World Languages program. We are looking for an adjunct to join our Japanese team to teach two or more sections a semester. The new instructor will be supported by our World Languages Coordinator. Our language courses are flipped, communicative, and active-learning-based. Cultural competence is necessary (e.g., how to navigate racial and sexual diversity in the target culture, including gender-neutral language). We are looking for candidates who can teach one or two sections physically in the classroom. Specific days and times are negotiable. Instructors are required to serve for a minimum of one hour a week at the Center for Languages as part of their teaching load. This is a pooled position. The department reviews applications as positions become available. Pooled positions re-open every year. We encourage all interested to apply to re-posted adjunct positions. This position is paid at $1,056 per instructional unit.
