Point University is seeking to hire an adjunct instructor in the College of Arts & Sciences to teach Environmental Science at its main campus in West Point, Georgia. This course is an introduction to the study of the human environment, intended for both our Biology majors and non-science majors in Point University's residential degree programs. The course includes both a lecture and an associated laboratory. Topics include general ecology, resources, pollution, and aspects of health, economics, and law as related to environmental science. Requirements A graduate degree in Environmental Science or a related science discipline is preferred; a doctoral degree is preferred. Applicants with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the subject area or significant professional experience in a relevant field may be considered. Teach in-person at the main campus in West Point, Georgia Prior teaching experience at collegiate level preferred Effective communication skills Basic computer literacy; experience with Canvas LMS a plus Willingness to be a role model and mentor to students Commitment to undergraduate education, professional growth, service, and scholarship in a distinctively Christian setting, including agreement with the University's mission and goals, values, and doctrinal statement.
