Description Position Summary: Franklin University, a private, independent, accredited, not-for-profit University located in Columbus, Ohio invites applicants for its Adjunct Faculty-Radiologic Technology position. The Adjunct Faculty role includes primary responsibility for providing quality instruction and maintaining a positive learning environment with an emphasis placed on teaching, supporting and evaluating students. Assigned courses will be for online instruction. Courses Available to Teach and Course Outcomes: HIM 150: Medical Terminology Identify common terminology, tools, and practices used in health and wellness domains. Interpret medical terms using prefixes, word roots, suffixes, and combining forms. Apply medical terminology conventions to construct and define healthcare terms. Recognize terminology associated with body systems, diseases, diagnostic procedures, and treatments. Use medical terminology appropriately within healthcare and clinical settings. RADT 101: Introduction to Radiologic Technology Apply patient assessment skills for radiological procedures. Implement safety protocols for radiographic procedures. Apply ethical and legal standards in patient care. Recommend appropriate responses to emergency situations, Apply humanistic and cultural humility approaches to decision-making. RADT 102: Radiation Science: Physics, Biology, and Protection Explain the fundamentals of X-ray production, Differentiate how radiation interacts with matter, Describe the characteristics of X-rays. Evaluate the biological effects of ionizing radiation on cells and tissues. Apply radiation protection strategies. Evaluate the roles of federal & state regulatory bodies in radiation safety compliance. RADT 110: Radiographic Procedures I Explain radiological positioning terminology, Apply anatomical knowledge to radiological positioning techniques, Analyze anatomy on image capture Assess radiographic images in terms of positioning accuracy, image quality, anatomical
