About this position

Xavier University is seeking a qualified candidate to join our team of adjunct faculty in the Master of Science in Water Utilities Management program for the 2027-2028 academic year. Program Website: https://www.xavier.edu/water-utilities-management/index We are seeking applications for a part-time, non-tenure-track, remote Adjunct faculty position teaching online in the Water Utilities Management graduate program. All courses are fully online and asynchronous. The current opening is below: WMGT 620 Capital Planning and Asset Management (2 CH)This course serves as a culminating experience that integrates utility finance, rate setting, and operational fundamentals into long-term capital planning and asset management decisions. Students learn to evaluate infrastructure condition, risk, and lifecycle costs to prioritize investments and develop defensible capital improvement plans (CIPs). Emphasis is placed on aligning capital planning with financial capacity, rate impacts, regulatory requirements, and service level goals. Through applied cases and scenario analysis, students synthesize technical, financial, and policy considerations to support sustainable, long-term utility decision-making. Prerequisites: WMGT 570 Finance Fundamentals, WMGT 610 Rate Setting and Utility Finance Course Build: Begins January 2027, Course Launch: August 2027 Candidates must be dedicated to graduate teaching and demonstrate excellence in their relevant field. The successful candidate will contribute to our commitment to excellence in teaching and student engagement. Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis until the position is filled. Adjunct faculty contracts are issued on a semester-by-semester basis, depending on program needs and student enrollment. Minimum Qualifications: Required: A master's degree or beyond in the discipline in which the instructor is teaching and exceptional tested experience that has been validated through publication or public recognition.
