Adjunct Faculty - Mathematics Posting Number: P2287 Job Title: Adjunct Faculty - Mathematics Students Only: No Job Description Summary: SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of this individual is to provide quality instruction to Western students enrolled in classes taught at the main campus in Rock Springs, or at an outreach center or high school in the Western Wyoming Community College district. Teaching a course over the Internet and/or teaching an evening course is also a common expectation. This individual must be able to relate to a wide variety of students in the community college environment. It is expected that this individual will accomplish assigned duties in an efficient, effective, competent manner and strive for improvement and excellence in all work performed. Additionally, this individual must understand the comprehensive role of the community college and cooperate and work harmoniously with college personnel and the public. This individual will follow all college policies, rules, regulations and guidelines as they relate to this position. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR WHICH THIS INDIVIDUAL IS ACCOUNTABLEProvides quality instruction to students in assigned courses including, but not limited to, developmental mathematics, pre-calculus, calculus sequence, and statistics. States clear objectives and criteria in each course syllabus; follows the approved syllabus template; integrates appropriate Western Student Learning Goals into each course; evaluates students' performance in light of these objectives and criteria. Teaches courses in a variety of environments and modes as required. Courses may be offered in the fall, spring or summer semesters and on varying schedules (i.e., 8- or 16-weeks), and may meet during the day, evening, or weekend in Rock Springs or at one of Western's outreach centers or may teach in online or HyFlex modality.
