ANNOUNCMENT OF POSITION VACANCY ABOUT THIS POSITION Summary: The Adjunct Medical Assistant Instructor provides high-quality classroom, laboratory, and/or clinical instruction within the Medical Office Assistant Program. The instructor prepares students for entry-level employment by teaching administrative and clinical medical assisting skills while fostering professionalism, critical thinking, patient safety, and ethical practice. We are searching for 2 positions, one for our CMUTech campus in Grand Junction, Colorado and one for our satellite campus in Montrose, Colorado. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other related duties may be assigned. Instruction Teach assigned courses using approved curriculum and learning outcomes.Deliver engaging classroom, laboratory, hybrid, or online instruction.Demonstrate current clinical and administrative medical assisting procedures.Facilitate hands-on learning in a safe laboratory environment.Maintain an organized, positive, and professional learning atmosphere. Student Learning Evaluate student knowledge, clinical skills, and professional behaviors.Assess competencies using established program standards.Provide timely, constructive feedback.Maintain accurate grade records and attendance.Identify and refer students needing additional academic support. Clinical Skills Instruction Teach and evaluate skills such as:Vital signsMedical asepsis and infection preventionHand hygiene and PPEVenipuncture and capillary punctureMedication administration (within program scope)Electrocardiography (ECG)Specimen collection and processingMedical documentation and EHRPatient communicationPatient preparation and roomingBasic laboratory procedures Program Responsibilities Follow all institutional, departmental, and program policies.Participate in required faculty meetings and training as assigned.Maintain student confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and FERPA.Support accreditation standards and prog
Requirements
- Medication administration (within program scope)
- Model professionalism, ethical conduct, and respect
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent healthcare education and experience
- Minimum of three years of recent clinical experience
- Current BLS certification
