Title: Adjunct Faculty-English & Learning Support Employee Classification: Instruction/Research Assistant Institution: Roane State Community College Department: Humanities Campus Location: Roane State Community College Job Summary Emphasis will be placed on teaching students in person, on-campus classes in one or more of the following areas: ENGL 0510-English Learning Support ENGL 1010-Composition I ENGL 1020-Composition II READ 0562-Reading Learning Support Teaching locations may include the following campuses: All Roane State locations with emphasis on Lenoir City. Job Duties Emphasis will be placed on teaching students in live, on-ground classes in one or more of the following areas: ENGL 0510-English Learning Support ENGL 1010-Composition I ENGL 1020-Composition II READ 0562-Reading Learning Support - (Essential) Minimum Qualifications ENGL 0510-Bachelor's degree in English, English Education, Literature or Technical Writing from a regionally accredited institution. ENGL 1010/1020-Master's degree in a qualifying field (Creative Writing, English, Letters, or Literature), or Master's degree with 18 hours in one of the aforementioned qualifying fields from a regionally accredited institution. READ 0562-Bachelor's degree in English, Reading, English Education, Adult Education or Reading Education from a regionally accredited institution. Preferred Qualifications Previous teaching experience is desired. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Demonstrated ability to teach traditional face-to-face classes. Use of technology (Zoom, D2L) to support student learning is expected. All applicant submissions must include CV/Resume and unofficial transcript attachments.
