Adjunct Faculty English The Division of Humanities and Learning Communities is looking to hire an Adjunct Faculty member to teach English classes. ENG-111: College Writing I This course emphasizes writing as a process for essays with multiple rhetorical modes. Using personal experience, readings with diverse cultural perspectives, and other sources, students apply critical reading and independent research skills to evaluate and integrate sources into their writing with proper citations from MLA and/or APA format. ENG-112: College Writing II This course focuses on development of thesis-driven essays supported by multiple sources and tailored to a target audience. Students will gain competency in synthesis, analysis and evaluation of multiple sources as well as demonstrate proficiency in conducting research and applying MLA and/or APA format. Responsibilities: Provide instruction to students in both the theory and practice of English. Incorporate a variety of teaching methods and materials to assist students with differing educational experiences, experiential backgrounds, and learning styles in meeting course competencies. Evaluates students' progress towards stated course competencies and informs them of their progress in a timely manner. Requirements: Master's degree or Ph. D. in English or related field. Experience teaching various levels and sections of ENG-111 (College Writing I) and ENG-112 (College Writing II). Experience with high-impact teaching and learning practices (examples: undergraduate research, community engagement, critical pedagogies, learning communities). Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population. Ability to teach courses on campus in an in-person setting at BHCC's Charlestown, Chelsea campuses, and Satellite locations. Preferred Requirements: Community college teaching experience preferred.
