About this position
The Adjunct Faculty member provides high-quality instruction in Economics, Sociology, and/or Psychology to a diverse community-college student population. Adjunct instructors support the mission of the college by promoting student learning, fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment, and upholding academic and professional standards. Education and Experience : Master’s degree from a nationally, regionally, or identified at the state level accredited institution of higher education with 18 graduate semester hours in the field being taught. Community College level teaching experience preferred Knowledge Skills and Ability : Ability to teach in an effective and competent manner. Must be punctual, dependable and have the ability to follow directions and proficiently complete task. Must possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to interact with students during course lecture. Use effective, evidence-based teaching strategies to engage students with varied backgrounds, learning styles, and academic preparation. Maintain accurate and timely records of grades, attendance, and student progress in accordance with institutional policies, submit certification roles to the registrar by required deadlines. Provide regular, constructive feedback to help students master course concepts and succeed academically. Essential Functions: Complete and return certified rolls and final grade rolls within deadlines. To carefully maintain attendance records. Advise students of attendance and withdrawal procedures as explained in the current CTC Catalogue. Meet every scheduled class on time and to keep the class for the entire class period. Notify the Area Supervisor immediately if it is necessary to be absent from class so that a substitute can be obtained. Maintained textbooks, manuals, etc. furnished by the college in order to return to the Area Supervisor at the completion of the semester. Issue each student at the beginning of each semester and
