Position Summary The Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering (MME) at the Ritchie School of Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Denver is looking to hire adjunct instructors to teach courses in topics including but not limited to: Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Bioengineering, and Materials Science. This posting will serve for multiple openings. More information about the courses can be found on the Registrar's Office schedule of classes at https://www.du.edu/registrar/course/scheduleofclasses.html. Teaching Schedule Winter Quarter runs from January to March (approximately) Spring quarter runs from March to June (approximately) Summer Quarter runs from June to August (approximately) Essential Functions Teach in person two to three times per week (depending on course) Design a new course or adapt an existing course. This includes learning outcomes, support materials, and a course calendar Create and maintain a Canvas course container Assign papers, exams, projects, labs, and other deliverables, as appropriate Grade in a timely manner Hold office hours and meet with students, over Zoom or in person, to discuss grades, assignments and/or project status Work with students and others to guarantee the best possible student experience Attend quarterly school meetings and monthly faculty meetings, if requested to do so Required Qualifications Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline Previous teaching experience A commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment Preferred Qual
