Position Title: Adjunct Faculty – Contemplative Practices for Somatic Counseling I # of Positions to Fill: 1 Department/Program: Somatic Low Residency 12020 Remote Work Authorization: Hybrid On-Site/Remote Campus Location: Nalanda Campus Reports to: Program Chair FLSA Classification: Exempt/Salaried FTE: 3% (1 hr/week) Compensation: $1,500 for the semester Application Deadline: 8/14 or until filled Job Summary The Somatic Counseling Low Residency department seeks an Adjunct Faculty Member to teach graduate level courses during the Fall 2026 semester. Adjunct Faculty are provided established curriculum/syllabus to work with and develop in collaboration with existing Core Faculty. This is a one-semester appointment assigned to a specific course. Logistics of this specific position – Dates and Details This is a 1-credit course offered in the Somatic Counseling concentration, to be taught asynchronously online from August 24, 2026 – December 11, 2026, synchronously during an online intensive August 27-29, 2026, and in-person during an intensive on the Nalanda campus from November 2-6, 2026. Course Description CNSS 646e – Contemplative Practices for Somatic Counseling (1 Credit) This course will explore contemplative practices and processes from somatically based, social justice counseling perspectives. The course includes how to work with oneself from places of stillness and movement, and how this informs and supports one's training as a body-based counselor and psychotherapist. Job Duties & Responsibilities · Teaches with a professional level of preparedness for the duration of the semester. · In collaboration with course area Core Faculty, reviews syllabus according to the Academic Affairs syllabi instructions and submit the syllabus to the Office of Academic Affairs by the established deadline. · Obtains permission from the copyright owner for any copyrighted material to be used in sourcebooks. · Grades all assignments, provides feedback to students in a time

Requirements

• EITHER a doctorate in Counseling, Counselor Education & Supervision, Psychology, related area relevant to mental health (e.g., Counseling Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy) or related to the course specialization;
• Master's degree in Counseling or a related field;
• Licensed or eligible for licensure at the Professional Counselor or equivalent level; and
• Equivalent of two years’ full-time employment in a clinical capacity in a mental health related setting (private practice, agency, or related setting) in the last five years
• Significant teaching experience including lecture, facilitating discussion, and experiential exercises
