Job Summary The Department of Computer Science and Engineering Technology (CSET) at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) is accepting resumes for adjunct positions in Computer Science. Resumes will be reviewed as needed for each semester. Responsibilities • Teach undergraduate courses in Computer Science using face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online modalities. • Motivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational process. • Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications • Master’s or doctoral degree in computer science or a closely related field. • Excellent teaching ability and commitment to mentoring students. • Effective written and interpersonal communication skills. • Individuals with degrees outside the United States may be subject to verification at the expense of the applicant. Preferences • Strong preference for candidates with expertise in the COBOL language and its business data processing environment. Physical Demands • Extended periods of standing, bending, stooping, and sitting at a desk. • May require lifting. • Requires communication with a variety of constituencies internally and externally. • Requires operation of various office equipment.
