ACU is affiliated with the fellowship of the Church of Christ. All applicants must be professing Christians and willing to support the Christian mission and purpose of Abilene Christian University while employed by the university. Adjunct faculty for the residential, undergraduate Child and Family Services major, including the Child Life Track. Basic ResponsibilitiesProvide high-quality instruction, direction and support for students in the classroom environment. When requested attend departmental/team meetings to participate with the program faculty in planning, and development of program and curriculum. Essential Duties Provide high quality instruction, direction and support for students in the classroom environment.Facilitate a range of class sizes, up to 49 students, which may include dividing the class into sections for discussion and group activities. Provide rich and timely feedback on student work, being both encouraging and constructively critical. Hold a minimum of two office hours per week, and be available by appointment for in-person or virtual meetings with students individually or in groups. Provide timely and helpful answers to students' inquiries outside of class time, regarding course material or academic matters. Enter final course grades by deadline, after consultation with lead faculty and/or program director. Alert department chair and/or program director to any student issues. This includes performance issues (e.g. failing grades, failing to turn in assignments, etc.) and policy violation issues (e.g. plagiarism). Comply with all pertinent policies and procedures outlined in Abilene Christian University's Handbook, Faculty Guidelines, and those specified by ACU's College of Biblical Studies. Provide feedback to program director for program and/or course improvement. Attend/complete program and faculty trainings and provide credentialing/records updates as required.
