Title: Adjunct Faculty, Basic Nursing Assistant Training (BNAT) Instructor Department: Basic Nursing Assistant Training (BNAT) Program Reports To: Clinical Placement and Program Coordinator (BNATP) Location: On-campus (Chicago, IL) Position Summary: The University is seeking a part-time instructor for our Basic Nursing Assistant (BNAT) program at the Chicago Campus. The instructor will work closely with the Executive Director of Academic Affairs, Chicago Campus and will be responsible for teaching in-person classes. The BNAT Instructor will handle course planning and instruction, teaching student’s essential patient care and basic nursing skills required to provide both physical care and emotional support to patients. This role also prepares students for employment as nurse assistants and equips them to take the state certification exam. Responsibilities: - Provides instruction through classroom theory/lecture, laboratory demonstration and skills practices, and supervised clinical sessions at a designated health care facility such as a nursing home or long-term care facility. - Provides students with course syllabus including course outline, grading standards, attendance policies, and classroom behavioral expectations. - Prepares lessons to teach and facilitate student learning to develop basic nursing and cardiopulmonary resuscitation skills using appropriate methods of instruction. - Maintains student attendance and grading records in compliance with policy and guidelines. - Constructs exams and assignments to evaluate student learning. Evaluates student progress and provides students with timely feedback. - Responsible for student evaluation and timely and accurate submission of grades and paperwork related to instruction - Maintains a purposeful, orderly, safe, and healthy classroom environment. - Consult with the Program Coordinator and collaborate with Ex.
