Teaching experience

7+ years teaching undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral business students online and in person. At NC A&T (2019–present), I teach leadership, management, HR, organizational behavior, communication, and strategy courses, and I design online MBA courses in Canvas. Previously taught management, ethics, and marketing at Medgar Evers College, CUNY (2009–2018). Served as DBA Dissertation Lead Chair (2020–2023) and currently serve on doctoral committees.

Interests & speaking style

Interests: My academic interests center on leadership development, emotional intelligence, and ethical leadership. My doctoral research examined Personal Knowledge Management and the leadership development of African American women, and my current work explores classroom attendance as a proxy for workplace accountability. I am also passionate about first-generation student success, inclusive leadership, and the use of AI tools to enhance learning. Lecturing Style: I teach with warm authority, creating a supportive environment while holding students to high standards. My lectures connect management theory to real-world scenarios and current organizational trends, so students practice decision-making and problem-solving rather than memorizing concepts. I use case studies, discussion, and applied activities, including the Situation-Behavior-Impact feedback model, to build communication and self-awareness. Whether I teach in person or online, I lead with what matters most, explain the “why” behind each lesson, and close with clear next steps so every student leaves knowing how to apply what they learned.
