Teaching experience
I have a Phd in sociology and an advanced certificate in demography. I have taught undergraduate courses at Lehman College and guest-lectured at Emory University. I have given workshop to older adults in a variety of topics. Most recently I taught an "intro to research" workshop to people experiencing homelessness in NYC.
Interests & speaking style
I love to engage my audience by asking somewhat controversial questions such as "do you think the United States presidency should have an age limit for eligibility?" Nothing political, religious or sensitive in that matter. I don't have many slides and when I do, I try to keep them simple and visually heavy. I treat my lectures as a group therapy session and most people feel comfortable participating when I teach.
