Guest lecture topics
I can deliver lectures and practical sessions on: - AI Governance and Responsible AI: AI risk management, ISO/IEC 42001, AI ethics, regulatory frameworks and responsible AI adoption in financial services. - Financial Crime and Fraud Prevention: Anti-money laundering (AML), transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, fraud detection and emerging financial crime threats. - FinTech and Payments Compliance: How payment systems work, regulatory challenges in digital payments, merchant onboarding, KYC/KYB and customer due diligence. - Risk Management and RegTech: Building effective risk controls, compliance automation, third-party risk management and the use of technology to improve regulatory processes. - AI in Financial Services: Practical applications of AI in fraud prevention, customer verification, risk decision-making and the governance challenges they introduce. My lectures would draw on practical experience working with financial technology companies, particularly in payments, onboarding and financial crime operations.
Teaching experience
My teaching experience includes mentoring and coaching professionals, particularly in financial crime, compliance operations and risk management. In previous leadership roles, I managed and supported teams responsible for merchant onboarding, due diligence and compliance reviews. This involved training team members, explaining regulatory requirements, providing feedback on complex cases and helping colleagues develop their technical knowledge and professional judgement. I've also shared practical industry knowledge through professional writing and knowledge-sharing initiatives focused on financial crime, compliance and emerging technology. While my experience has primarily been in professional training and mentorship rather than formal academic lecturing, it has given me a strong foundation in explaining complex subjects and helping others apply what they've learnt.
Interests & speaking style
My preferred approach is practical and discussion-led. I like using real-world examples, case studies and questions that encourage participants to think critically rather than simply memorise concepts. I want students to leave a session not only understanding a subject, but also knowing how it applies in practice, what challenges professionals face and how they might approach those challenges themselves.
