Job Summary The Community College of Rhode Island invites applicants to apply as a Welding Teacher Assistant within the Division of Workforce Partnerships. The Division of Workforce Partnerships is seeking teacher assistants to support part-time, non-credit welding courses offered throughout Rhode Island year round. Courses are competency-based and range from short-term workshops to semester-long training programs. The teacher assistant supports instructors in the delivery of welding curriculum and educational programs, helping ensure students develop technical skills, remain engaged, and achieve their educational and employment goals. Trainings are scheduled in response to employer partner demand and may include day, evening, and/or weekend hours. Work Location The working location for this position will be at Senesco Marine in North Kingstown, RI. Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist with classroom and hands-on welding instruction, including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding processes Organize work plans, lab activities, tools, materials, and equipment for instructional use Provide one-to-one mentoring and support to students during classroom and lab activities Reinforce welding safety procedures, blueprint reading, fabrication techniques, and proper tool usage Use technology to communicate with students and colleagues and assist with program record keeping and reporting Support student retention through engagement, coaching, and instructional support Adhere to ADA guidelines and CCRI policies regarding student accommodations Maintain organized records of attendance, assessments, skill attainment, and student progress Maintain a safe, clean, and fully operational welding lab environment Inventory tools, welding equipment, and consumables at the beginning and end of lab sessions Operate the tool crib and distribute tools and materials during hands-on lab activities Collaborate with instructors and program leadership to support employer-driven workforce training initi
