Position Summary The Department of Art and Design at the University of Central Arkansas invites applications for a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor or Visiting Lecturer I position in the Interior Design Program beginning January 2, 2027. The department seeks a candidate whose teaching and professional interests connect historical precedent, preservation research, and contemporary interior design practice. In addition to teaching responsibilities, this position will serve as Curriculum and NCPE Coordinator, supporting the Interior Design Pro

Requirements

• Demonstrated expertise in architectural history, interiors history, historic preservation, preservation research, or closely related subject matter
• Evidence of successful teaching, scholarship, professional practice, or a combination thereof
• Primary responsibilities include teaching History of Architecture, Interiors, and Furnishings I; History of Architecture, Interiors, and Furnishings II; Historic Research for Interior Preservation; and selected Art Foundations courses such as 2D Design, 3D Design, Drawing, or Fabrication based on departmental needs and candidate qualifications
• Skills Considered Essential for Success
• Knowledge of the organization and administration of higher education
