Riggs School of Applied Life SciencesJob Description: Position Overview: The primary responsibility of the Adjunct Faculty member is teaching. We are seeking adjuncts to serve as KGI faculty advisor for teams of students completing their industry sponsored capstone project at Keck Graduate Institute (KGI): PDEV 6000 Team Masters Project (Fall and Spring semester, 3 credits) We are seeking candidates with expertise in commercial operations in particular supply chain management, logistics, and quality assurance. Course Description: The Team Master's Project (TMP) is the capstone activity for Master of Business and Science (MBS) students, Master of Science in Medical Device Engineering (MSMDE) students, and Master of Science in Applied Life Sciences (MS) students who have selected the TMP concentration. Additionally, participation in TMP is a degree requirement for Master of Engineering in Biopharmaceutical Processing (MEng) students. During the academic year, interdisciplinary teams, typically consisting of four to six students, work on real-world projects that address important objectives for sponsoring companies in the life science industries. These projects may involve business, regulatory, technical, clinical areas, or a combination of these components. The TMP final project report replaces the thesis required in traditional programs. In accordance with KGI's mission to translate the potential of the life sciences into practice, the TMP offers a rigorous and experiential learning opportunity which immerses students in the type of work many will pursue after graduation. Each TMP team receives guidance and direction from both a KGI faculty advisor and a liaison from the sponsoring company, ensuring that academic rigor is paired with a pragmatic focus.
