Job Category: Faculty Relocation Expense Covered: No Employee Type: Overload and Adjunct FO Required Degree: 2 Year Degree Manage Others: No Minimum Experience: 2 Years Contact informationName: Jessica Hess Phone: 812-888-4185 Email: jhess@vinu.edu Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Work collaboratively with the Land Resources Department on the Vincennes campus Teach surveying technician classes Assist students with labs Assess student progress through testing and lab work, submit grades Responsibilities:Teach surveying classes Maintain lab equipment for student use Prepare and deliver hands-on surveying labs for students Assess student progress through testing and lab work Turn in data for assessment to the department coordinator Submit grades as required by the University Manual Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: Associate Degree in Surveying Technology Teaching experience is a plus Indiana Professional Surveyors -or- Engineering License Position Requirements:Solid understanding of surveying instruments including total stations, data collectors, and gps Ability to operate or be trained on machine control equipment and software Ability to operate or be trained on the use of drone technology Solid understanding of surveying drafting software Willingness to learn additional software. Physical Demands: Normal physical demands for successful work in a normal classroom environment and ability to lift 25 pounds.
