Posting Number: 2886 Job Schedule: Part Time Job Shift: Varied OCR Code / Classification: 2 - Instructor - Faculty Min Salary: $36.95 Max Salary: $39.45 Work Location Main Campus Job Description Summary The Part-time Sociology Instructor is responsible for teaching assigned sociology courses to students in college-transfer and career and technical education programs. The instructor facilitates student learning through effective course preparation, instruction, assessment, and feedback while maintaining high academic standards and supporting achievement of established course learning outcomes. Classes may be offered during the day, afternoon, or evening and may be delivered face-to-face, online, hybrid, or through other approved instructional modalities. Classes may be held on the main campus, at off-campus instructional sites, or through distance education. Minimum Qualifications Required:Master's Degree in Sociology or Master's Degree or higher with at least 18 graduate hours in Sociology. **Note: Degrees and hours must be from a college accredited by a US Dept of Education accepted accrediting agency such as SACSCOC. Preferred Qualifications Preferred: College-level teaching experience, preferably in a community college or similar higher education setting Experience teaching face-to-face, online, hybrid, and/or blended courses Experience using learning management systems, instructional technology, Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace, spreadsheets, presentation tools, and collaboration applications Demonstrated ability to support student learning and achievement through effective instruction, assessment, communication, and feedback Essential Duties ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
