Part-Time Faculty: PHI 251: Philosophy - Logic (Fall 2026) Location: Syracuse, NY Pay Range: $1,483 - $2,000 per credit hour Pay Determination: Salary offers at Syracuse University will be based on education, experience, and relevant skills, as well as the academic or professional discipline of the position in the context of the home department, school, or college. Salary offers may also be influenced by prior relevant work or industry experience, where applicable. Faculty pay ranges are for 8.5 months salary unless otherwise specified. FLSA Status: Exempt Hours: Monday - Wednesday 2:15pm - 3:35pm Monday - Wednesday 3:45pm - 5:05pm Office hours required. Job Type: Part Time Rank: PTI/Adjunct Campus: Unionized Position Code: UA Job Description: The Philosophy Department in the College of Arts & Sciences at Syracuse University is seeking a part-time instructor of Philosophy to teach two sections of PHI 251, Logic, a 3 credit course, during Fall 2026 semester. This course meets in-person on the SU campus. The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined based on their per-credit-rate-history within the hiring department. All positions and offers are subject to funding availability and enrollment. Course Description: Logic as a formal language, as a component of natural language, and as a basis of a programming language. Varieties of logical systems and techniques. Syntax, semantics and pragmatics.
