Salary offers may also be influenced by prior relevant work or industry experience, where applicable. Faculty pay ranges are for 8.5 months salary unless otherwise specified. FLSA Status: Exempt Hours: Tuesday - Thursday 11:00am - 12:20pm Tuesday - Thursday 12:30pm - 1:50pm Office hours required. Job Type: Part Time Rank: PTI/Adjunct Campus: Unionized Position Code: UA Job Description: The Philosophy Department in the College of Arts & Sciences at Syracuse University seeks a part-time instructor of Philosophy to teach 2 sections of PHI 107, Theories of Knowledge and Reality, a 3 credit course, during Fall Semester 2026. This course meets in-person on the SU campus. The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined based on their per-credit-rate-history within the hiring department. All positions and offers are subject to funding availability and enrollment Course Description: An introduction to major questions about knowledge and reality, such as the existence of God, the mind-body problem, free will and the nature and limits of knowledge. Historical and contemporary readings. Qualifications:ABD or PhD in Philosophy. Job Specific Qualifications: Not Applicable Responsibilities: The duties associated with the teaching assignment include:Developing and/or updating a class syllabus. Preparation of lectures. Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours. Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course. Meeting all designated class periods.
