Part-Time ESOL for Employment Instructor (Non-Credit Instructor) POSITION: Part-Time ESOL for Employment Instructor (Non-Credit Instructor): SNAP Path to Work Program, Center for Adult Education; Lawrence Campus; Dimitry Building, 45 Franklin Street; up to 6 hours/week. SUMMARY: The Center for Adult Education is seeking dedicated ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) instructors to teach ESOL for employment classes. The ideal candidate is passionate about supporting adult English language learners and is committed to creating an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment that promotes student growth and success. This role requires knowledge of ESL/ESOL instructional strategies, strong communication skills, and the ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of adult learners. Non-Credit Instructors are hired on an as-needed basis. Instruction is delivered in person on the Lawrence campus with classes scheduled during evening hours. SCHEDULE: Up to 6 hours per week; hybrid evening instruction (online and in person) RESPONSIBILITIES: The responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned ESOL instruction tailored to adult learners' proficiency levels and needs. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation, promotes language acquisition, and supports student leadership. Implement a variety of instructional strategies and methodologies to support student engagement and achievement. Use department-approved curriculum, instructional materials, and Brightspace to support teaching and learning. Assess students' English language proficiency using formal and informal methods and use data to inform and guide instructional decisions. Provide timely, constructive feedback to support language development and academic progress. Support program operations by administering pre- and post-assessments and providing substitute coverage
