NorthWest Arkansas Community College (NWACC) is seeking a qualified and passionate part-time faculty member to teach Judo and Self-Defense courses. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in martial arts, experience in teaching or coaching, and a commitment to student success and safety. This position involves planning and delivering engaging, inclusive, and skill-based instruction to a diverse student population. Currently hiring for Spring of 2026. Essential Duties Teach assigned Judo and Self-Defense classes in accordance with NWACC’s curriculum and academic standardsDevelop and implement lesson plans that promote physical fitness, self-discipline, and personal safetyProvide hands-on instruction in techniques, drills, and safety protocolsMaintain a safe and respectful learning environmentAssess student performance and provide timely feedbackParticipate in required training and professional development activitiesCommunicate effectively with students, staff, and administrationUphold NWACC’s mission and values Rate of Pay: $875 per credit hour Minimum Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in Judo and/or Self-Defense (e.g., black belt or equivalent certification)Prior teaching, coaching, or instructional experience in martial arts or self-defenseCPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Preferred Qualifications Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiol
