About this position

Adjunct FacultyRasmussen University This course provides students a foundation in the United States legal system and healthcare laws, regulations, processes, and ethical considerations impacting health information. Topics include healthcare laws and regulations surrounding patient privacy and confidentiality, protected health information, release of information, fraud and abuse, and the legal health record. This course develops the student's ability to identify and respond to potential ethical dilemmas in health information management. Reporting Relationships: Adjunct Faculty will report to an Academic Dean Responsibilities: Adjunct faculty members are primarily responsible for communicating with students and supervising Deans or other University staff related to teaching and learning. Faculty are expected to: • Communicate both verbally and in writing with students in regards to feedback on student performance on a consistent basis throughout the course and as required by the Faculty Expectations • Be available for students via phone, email and for individual appointments as needed for questions and academic assistance as determined and outlined in the Faculty Expectations • Respond to Dean/University staff in regards to performance, student issues/concerns, or items needed for faculty file/accreditation needs in a timely manner • Appropriate behavior, language, professional communication, demeanor and dress will be exhibited at all times Key Accountabilities: The essential function of the position include, but are not limited to the following tasks, duties, and responsibilities consistent with the function. The employee is expected to perform all other duties as requested, directed, and/or assigned. Adjunct faculty will be assigned up to 3 work units per academic quarter.
