About this position
St. Thomas Aquinas College, Sparkill, NY, invites applications for an immediate temporary faculty appointment in Music. The successful candidate will teach two course sections covering Introduction to Music and a general survey of Rhythm and Blues. The appointment may be for up to three weeks or for the remainder of the semester, depending on the circumstances. Compensation will be discussed with qualified and interested applicants. In-person instruction is preferred; however, an online teaching option may be available. Course days and times are as follows: Introduction to Music: Monday/Wednesday 9:50 am-11:15 am Introduction to Music: Monday/Wednesday 1:00 pm-2:25 pm Blues to Hip Hop: Tuesday/Thursday 1:00 pm-2:25 pm Candidates with appropriate academic preparation and teaching experience in music are encouraged to apply. Compensation: Compensation will be prorated based on the duration of the teaching assignment, using a full-semester course rate of $2,800 to $3,800. The applicable rate is determined based on the academic program and the selected candidate’s qualifications and level of education. The assignment is currently anticipated to last approximately three weeks but may be extended through the remainder of the semester. Start Date: September 8, 2026
