Medical Assisting Adjunct Instructor

Salary Range: $34.00 per contact hour Work Location: On-Site Campus Location: Jefferson Community College Job Summary Jefferson Community and Technical College is seeking an adjunct instructor to provide in-person classroom instruction, laboratory, and/or clinical instruction in the Medical Assisting program. Instructor will support student learning, evaluate performance, maintain accurate records, and follow college policies and accreditation standards. Position begins 8/17/2026. Job Duties: Knowledge of current medical assisting practices, procedures, and standards of care. Ability to effectively teach in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to use instructional technology and learning management systems. Effective organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills. Ability to assess student learning and provide constructive feedback. Commitment to professionalism, student success, and maintaining a safe learning environment. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and clinical partners. Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree or higher in Medical Assisting or a related healthcare field. Current nationally recognized medical assisting certification. At least three years of recent medical assisting experience. Strong clinical, communication, and technology skills. Preferred Qualifications: Previous teaching or clinical instruction experience in a community college, technical college, career and technical education, or allied health program. Familiarity with competency-based education and active learning strategies. Experience supervising students in laboratory or clinical settings. Experience using Blackboard Ultra or another learning management system. Strong organizational and time management skills.
