Position descriptionThe Department of African American & African Studies at UC Davis welcomes applications for undergraduate courses in the Fall and Winter quarters of the 2026-27 academic year. Applicants may apply to teach one or more courses. This position is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement Courses to be filled include:1. AAS 123 "The Black Female Experience" Fall Quarter 2026: September 21, 2026 - December 11, 2026 4 units * Scheduled for TR 10:30-12:20PM Enrollment cap: 65 students Course description: Black female social, intellectual, and psychological development. Black women's contributions in history, literature, and social science; life experiences of Black women and philosophical underpinnings of the feminist movement. 2. AAS 083 "Black Food Politics" Winter Quarter 2027: January 4, 2027 - March 19, 2027 4 units Scheduled for TR 2:10-4:00PM Enrollment cap: 65 students Course description: Critical examination of the histories and politics of Black food traditions in the United States. QualificationsA Ph. D. is preferred, but we welcome candidates who are ABD, hold an M.A. degree in a related field, and/or who have previous experience teaching at the college/university level.
