There are multiple sections of this course, which can be taught in person, hybrid or completely online. Course Description: The second of a two-semester course consisting of integrated modules covering the areas of matter/energy, molecules, living systems, and environment. These modules will cover major concepts in the physical and biological sciences, emphasizing their application to real-world problems. Concepts covered will include the interactions of matter and energy, laws of motion, atomic structure of matter, structure and properties of molecules, principles of genetics, structure and function of living organisms, evolution, and interactions of organisms with each other and their environment. Includes practical experience in the application of the scientific method through laboratory activities. Minimum qualifications: A master's degree or equivalent professional experience in Biological Sciences or related fields Per the California State University's Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California.
