Instructor, Diabetes Certificate Programs Primary Purpose and Essential Functions: The Instructor for Diabetes Certificate Programs is a subject matter expert responsible for facilitation and instruction for the suite of Diabetes Essentials Certificate programs, including tracks for paraprofessionals, clinicians, and specialty tracks. This position reports directly to the Executive Director for the Center for Professional and Continuing Education. Benerd College offers continuing education and professional development opportunities such as certificates, online courses, and degree completion for non-traditional students and working professionals. The College currently seeks a subject matter expert with a creative and entrepreneurial spirit to serve a vital role as we fulfill our vision to continue to offer programs to support public health initiatives. This entails educating, empowering, and preparing a pipeline of healthcare professionals for the local workforce who are specifically trained in diabetes management and education. The Diabetes Certificate programs focus on innovative learning design, learning environments, and learning experiences in clinical and non-clinical settings. We hope to find a colleague who will help us move even further in stewarding the most transformational and impactful program possible and to educate a pipeline of health professionals specializing in diabetes in the Stockton metro area. This is a grant-funded position with a preliminary six-month appointment (total hours funded for this position are up to 142 hours over a course of 6 months). The successful candidate will have demonstrated subject matter expertise in diabetes education and will show evidence of or potential for research, leadership, and the ability to work collaboratively with students, colleagues, and stakeholders.
