About this position

Cornerstone University seeks an adjunct (part-time) instructor(s) to teach Voice/Applied Lessons for Fall 2026. Qualified candidates will demonstrate skill and experience across genres including classical, contemporary, and sacred technique and repertoire. The position includes from 15 to 20 students in weekly one half-hour or one hour private lessons (scheduling of days and times is flexible), supervision of recitals (2 each semester this year), grading voice juries, and teaching the one-hour Performance Lab course. Qualified candidates will have:A bachelor's degree in Music or Performance and, ideally, at least 18 credit hours of graduate study in Music or Performance Experience in solo vocal performance Experience in worship leading Highly qualified candidates will have:A master's degree and/or doctorate in Performance Professional experience as a vocal performer Previous experience as a college educator Each candidate must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, be active in a local church and espouse a theology that supports the values and mission of Cornerstone University as evidenced by fully affirming the university's doctrinal statement, "The Cornerstone Confession". ********************** Please contact Dr. Kent Walters, Professor of Music and Music Program Director at kent.walters@cornerstone.edu with questions about this position.
