Requisition Number: 0FF33653245 Adjunct Professor of Religion Department: Religion/Religious Studies Classification: Part-Time, Adjunct Faculty Reports To: Department Chair Teaching Load: 3-9 Credit Hours Per Semester Position Summary Lane College is seeking a qualified and student-centered Adjunct Professor of Religion to teach undergraduate religion courses on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will demonstrate experience teaching religion or religious studies courses and a commitment to supporting the academic, personal, and professional development of students. The Adjunct Professor of Religion will teach between three and nine credit hours per semester, participate in departmental activities, and provide appropriate academic guidance to students. The faculty member must be able to create an engaging, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for a diverse student body. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Teach three to nine credit hours per semester, as assigned. Provide instruction in religion and religious studies courses, which may include: New Testament World Religions History of the Black Church Biblical Studies Christian Ethics Church History Other related religion courses Develop and deliver course content in accordance with approved course descriptions, learning outcomes, and departmental standards. Prepare course syllabi, instructional materials, assignments, examinations, and other learning activities. Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and student performance records. Submit grades, attendance reports, and other required documentation by established deadlines. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students. Offer academic advising and guidance related to course progress, academic success, and available college resources. Maintain appropriate office hours or scheduled availability for student consultation. Use effective classroom management practices to promote a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment.
