About this position

The Wilmington University School of Law welcomes applications from experienced lawyers, judges, and law school instructors who are interested in serving as Adjunct Professor of Law. This position is a part‑time, non‑tenured faculty position. The successful candidate will be expected to achieve and maintain excellence in teaching at the School of Law. The Wilmington University School of Law is committed to broad access to affordable legal education within a student‑centered culture. The school’s goals include: Hiring faculty chosen for their extensive experience, commitment to excellence in teaching, and dedication to making a difference in the lives of their students. Enrolling students who reflect the diverse communities they will serve in Delaware and the national legal community. Offering course schedules and curricula that have been crafted to maximize the benefit for students who may be balancing professional and personal commitments in addition to their legal studies. Providing an educational program focused on excellence in developing practice‑related competencies, through a curriculum mapped to those competencies and using best instructional practices. Bridging the gap between theory and practice through externships that provide hands‑on opportunities to help practicing attorneys solve real challenges. Creating opportunity for our students by keeping tuition and debt low and producing graduates with high value and ability in multiple segments of the market for legal services. There are adjunct professor openings to teach the following courses in the School of Law for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 terms and General Pool: Administrative Law Conflict of Laws Bankruptcy Law Employment Law Federal Courts Pretrial Advocacy Skills Legal Writing I Race and the Law Seminar Legislation and Regulations Trial Advocacy Skills Required Qualifications J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school.
