About this position

Job Description Course Description: Healthcare Ethics fulfills Ethics and the Common Good in students' General Education requirements, and is a course where students will gain insight in holistically responding to ethical issues from clinical, administrative, and financial perspectives. Students will also develop an understanding of ethical theories rooted in philosophical and theological foundations. Position Description: Employed on a per-load-unit basis for a given semester or term. Sole contracted responsibilities are those activities required in the delivery of a course (e.g., mentoring/coaching, preparation, teaching, grading, office hours). In some instances, there may be some contracted responsibilities for advising, course development or meeting other departmental needs. General Education Description: The Office of General Education and Common Learning oversees the General Education curriculum which includes discipline-based and interdisciplinary courses. Interdisciplinary (ID) courses provide areas of integrated learning in which students wrestle with and address complex questions that face our society, and are woven throughout the curriculum. Students will be challenged to answer these questions by examining different perspectives, theories, and experiences to arrive a more discerning conclusion. Students cultivate adeptness in navigating complexity and thinking holistically about these issues in order to reflect upon their own beliefs, as well as bridge values and assumptions of diverse perspectives. In turn, students are empowered to respond to unexpected and ever-changing realities they will encounter in life, work, and society. Responsibilities Teach one section of Healthcare Ethics in Fall 2026. Create and maintain a course page in Canvas LMS structure; design and grade assessments of student learning; respond to students in a timely manner via weekly office hours and/or email. Courses typically meet face to face for 2.5-hours/week for 15 week
