Job Type: Part time Job Number: JR101677 Location: No Office Location The Opportunity Lesley University's department of Natural Sciences and Mathematics is seeking a highly qualified adjunct faculty member to teach: Adjunct Faculty - CPHYS 1308: General Chemistry I with Lab; Fall Semester 2026; Mondays/Wednesdays 4:00 - 6:00 pm; In-person, On-Campus. Course Description: This course introduces the fundamental principles of inorganic and organic chemistry, including atomic structure, periodic trends, chemical bonding, chemical reactions, and molecular structure. These concepts are further explored through the examination of contemporary applications and issues, such as air and water pollution, pesticides, food additives, forensic science, pharmaceuticals, and energy technologies. Particular emphasis is placed on evaluating the implications of these topics for public policy, environmental sustainability, and human health. The course includes a required student project designed to foster scientific inquiry and critical analysis. This course includes both a lecture and laboratory component. Qualities and Capabilities A successful candidate will have:Master's degree in Chemistry or a closely related field (required); PhD or terminal degree (preferred) Successful experience teaching chemistry and lab courses at the undergraduate level Experience supporting students with diverse academic backgrounds Demonstrated commitment to student-centered, inclusive, and equitable teaching practices Experience in constructivist inquiry-based learning with the ability to teach chemistry concepts in ways that are accessible, relevant, and engaging Experience using learning management systems and educational technology to support teaching and learning Excellent written and verbal communication skills Why Lesley Located in the heart of Cambridge, Massachusetts, Lesley University is highly regarded for its graduate and undergraduate programs in the human arts of education, the arts, a
